Quant Capital is urgently looking for a Python Data Engineer to join our high profile client, a well-known Systematic Trading Hedge Fund. They value technology, especially open-source solutions, scalability, and robust performance.
This role will be working with a large distributed system (built in Python and Java) automating a large volume of real-time data into a portfolio management system. We are looking for an engineer with strong Python and database knowledge who is eager to learn about risk and expand a data platform from scratch with support on the financial side.
The Python Data Engineer must have:
- ~2:1 Computer Science, Maths, Physics or Chemistry degree from a Red Brick UK or EU University
- ~3 years plus commercial development experience
- Strong and demonstrable core Python coding
- Strong database skills (mix of SQL, NoSQL, PostgreSQL)
- Experience in financial services, ideally fund/wealth management
- Experience in software development within the enterprise space
- An understanding of computing fundamentals, object-oriented programming, threading, concurrency, and distributed systems
The environment is relaxed and open, allowing time to think and make the right decisions. My client is based in Central London but does not require office work unless a core meeting is called.
