Quant Capital is looking to speak to candidates to join a growing Fin Tech business based in South West London.

Our is hiring an Infrastructure Engineer to take ownership of core infrastructure and security engineering across a modern Microsoft/Azure environment.

This role suits someone who understands scale, cares about uptime, and thinks security-first.

Real responsibility from day one.

You'll deliver projects across infrastructure, automation, and cloud security, while acting as a technical escalation point for internal teams.

You'll work across Windows, networking, identity, cloud, and security — owning problems end to end.

What you'll do

  • Lead the day-to-day management and support of IT infrastructure services.
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and resilient infrastructure solutions.
  • Supporting our primarily Microsoft-based infrastructure, ensuring its high availability, resilience, and performance. Both hybrid cloud and on-premise environments.
  • Oversee server, storage, network, backup, cloud and virtualisation platforms.
  • Ensure infrastructure availability, performance, and disaster recovery readiness.
  • Maintain infrastructure security standards, patching, and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor, identify, investigate, and respond to security threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Manage endpoint protection, firewalls, SIEM, MFA, email security, and access controls.
  • Implement and maintain security standards, policies, and best practices.
  • Work with third-party security providers as required.
  • Leadership and Team Management
  • Lead and develop the small Infra team, strong leadership and people management skills.
  • What you'll need
  • A high level of experience with Microsoft technologies including Windows Server and Desktop, Active Directory, Entra, Hybrid domains, Group Policies, 365, Intune, Teams, Share Point, NTFS etc.
  • Networking - TCP/IP, VLANS, VPNs, Wi-Fi, DNS internal and Global DNS Providermanagement, good level of network hardware experience e. g. Cisco/Fortinet Forti Gate.
  • Security - this role is highly focused on security with knowledge of the following

System security hardening, vulnerability assessments and patch management.

  • Policy creation and roll out
  • Security Best practices across all environments
  • Security Compliance - GDPR, PCI, ISO27001
  • Working with external Pen Testers

Antivirus Management - Oversight of incidents and roll out of new policies following bestpractices and adaptation to emerging threats.

  • Cyber Security Tools - Management across Endpoints, email, networks, Incident response
  • Email Security Management

Certificate Management - installation and renewal of SSL/TLS certificates on web servers, network devices etc.

  • Domain management - both internal and external
  • Human Firewall - Have oversight on tools such as Knowbe4 for Staff Training and securityawareness. Work with the Training team to roll out new procedures and materialy
  • Ideally some understanding of MS SQL Database administration.
