IT Security Engineer London Quant Capital is working with a leading quantitative trading firm looking for an IT Security Engineer to strengthen security across a large-scale Windows environment. This is a hands-on role sitting close to engineering and IT operations. You will deploy and improve endpoint security controls, drive vulnerability remediation, support incident triage and automate repeatable security work with PowerShell.
Responsibilities
- Deploy, document and support Windows security controls at scale.
- Own key parts of vulnerability detection, prioritisation and remediation.
- Support security incidents and production issues alongside IT Operations and engineering teams.
- Improve endpoint protection across EDR, anti-malware, application control, logging, host firewalls and disk encryption.
- Build PowerShell automation to make security workflows more scalable and repeatable.
- Help shape operational playbooks, procedures and technical security standards.
Qualifications
- 5+ years in security or operations engineering with strong Windows experience.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Group Policy and Windows security controls.
- Good understanding of common Windows attack paths and the controls used to mitigate them.
- Practical incident triage, troubleshooting, log analysis and monitoring experience.
- Experience deploying endpoint security tooling at scale.
- Comfortable scripting and automating security tasks in PowerShell.
- Clear communicator who works well across security, engineering and operations.
Preferred Skills
- Working in a code-driven engineering environment.
A strong fit for someone who enjoys being close to the systems, can work through messy security problem and is comfortable taking ownership in a fast-moving technical environment.
