Quant Capital is working with a global market-making firm looking for a Head of Infrastructure to lead the buildout and evolution of its trading platform across cloud and on-prem environments. This is a senior technical leadership role with full ownership of infrastructure strategy, delivery, and scale across low-latency trading systems.

This hire will drive a major AWS migration, build greenfield environments, modernise legacy systems, and shape the long-term engineering roadmap. You’ll lead a small but senior infrastructure function with real autonomy and impact.

The Role

  • Own infrastructure architecture across cloud, on-prem and hybrid platforms
  • Lead end-to-end AWS migration and modernisation strategy
  • Build greenfield environments for trading and research workloads
  • Design and operate highly available, low-latency global infrastructure
  • Take ownership of Microsoft services, Active Directory and core networking
  • Engineer secure connectivity across firewalls, routing and multi-site links
  • Drive network security, segmentation and access control strategy
  • Lead and grow a high-performing infrastructure/DevOps team
  • Partner closely with engineering, trading and risk functions
  • Automate provisioning and deployment with IaC (CloudFormation/Terraform/Ansible)
  • Scale monitoring, cost optimisation and system reliability in production

Background

  • 7+ years in infrastructure leadership within trading, market-making or high-performance engineering environments
  • Strong AWS architecture and hybrid (cloud + on-prem) experience
  • Deep networking background: routing, switching, low-latency connectivity
  • Strong understanding of reliability engineering and autoscaling systems
  • Prior experience building and scaling teams in high-performing environments
  • Confident interacting with technical and trading leadership
