Quant Capital is working with a leading proprietary trading firm looking to hire a Systems Engineer to support a high-performance front-office environment. This role sits directly alongside the business. You’ll be supporting traders and critical systems in real time, owning issues end-to-end and improving the technology stack they rely on. The environment is fast, demanding and highly technical — you’re expected to think clearly under pressure and fix problems properly.
What you’ll be doing:
- Supporting a front-office trading environment with a focus on speed and reliability
- Managing and troubleshooting trading applications and user systems
- Owning user onboarding, hardware rollout and device lifecycle
- Working closely with trading, engineering and infrastructure teams globally
- Driving improvements across the user environment and tooling
- Automating workflows and reducing manual intervention across systems
- Evaluating and introducing new technologies where they add value
What we’re looking for:
- Strong experience supporting users and applications across Windows, Linux and macOS
- Background working in a trading or similarly high-pressure environment
- Comfortable operating directly with front-office users and time-critical systems
- Strong troubleshooting skills across OS, hardware and applications
- Scripting or automation experience (PowerShell, Python or similar)
- Able to take ownership, prioritise effectively and deliver under pressure
- Clear communicator with a direct, no-nonsense approach
Nice to have:
- PowerShell or Python scripting
- Experience with Active Directory / Windows Server
- Exposure to endpoint management tooling
This is a front-line engineering role in a serious trading environment. You’ll be close to the action, expected to move quickly, and given the autonomy to improve systems rather than just maintain them. All applications are handled in strict confidence.
