Quant Capital is working with a global financial technology firm looking to hire a Cloud Network Engineer to design, build and operate secure, scalable network infrastructure across cloud and hybrid environments. This role sits within a modern platform engineering function and focuses heavily on automation, security and reliability.
You’ll work closely with cloud, security and application teams to deliver high-availability networking for business-critical systems, with real ownership over architecture and implementation.
The Role- Design and deploy network architecture across AWS and on-prem environments
- Build and operate AWS networking services including VPCs, Transit Gateway, VPN and Direct Connect
- Configure and manage load balancing (ALB/NLB) and ingress within Kubernetes environments
- Implement network security controls including WAF, segmentation and firewall policies
- Own connectivity patterns such as PrivateLink and service-to-service networking
- Manage perimeter and internal firewalls (Palo Alto or similar)
- Drive automation and infrastructure-as-code practices across networking
- Monitor, troubleshoot and optimise network performance, security and cost
- Respond to incidents, vulnerabilities and security events
- Maintain clear technical documentation and standards
- Strong background in enterprise or cloud networking
- Hands-on experience with AWS networking (VPC, TGW, Route 53, Direct Connect)
- Experience with cloud security platforms such as Zscaler (ZIA/ZPA)
- Solid understanding of routing, switching, VPNs and firewalling
- Experience managing Palo Alto or equivalent firewalls
- Exposure to automation and IaC (Terraform, Python desirable)
- Understanding of security best practices and compliance frameworks
- Familiarity with Kubernetes networking concepts
