Quanex requires a driven and dynamic Procurement Buyer to join the procurement team for the ERA & Zoo divisions of their Hardware Solutions sector.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
- Lead , as the operational procurement representative, the selection, evaluation and qualification of suppliers.
This includes RFQ issuance and analysis—evaluating both economic competitiveness and supply chain solidity and sustainability—as well as supporting make-or-buy analyses and onboarding new suppliers in alignment with corporate policies.
- Monitor in conjunction with the company supply chain & logistics teams supplier performance and where necessary address performance, cost, delivery issues with suppliers on issued purchase orders.
- Collaborate closely with the NPD (New Product Development) Procurement Team to align operational activities with global sourcing strategies for NPD projects.
- Sourcenew potential suppliers to strengthen the existing company supply chain and ensure that the correct process is followed for the successful pre-qualification & onboarding of these suppliers.
- Conductdata analysis activities on new suppliers, supplier metrics, product metrics and assist in general reporting including reporting dashboards etc.
Key Skills
- Proven experience in a procurement role/environment.
- Experience of working in manufacturing or finished goods.
- Knowledge of ERP systems.
- Desirable to have CIPS accreditation or time-served experience.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
