Liniar is an award-winning manufacturer based in Denby, Derbyshire – a subsidiary of the US-based Quanex group. We currently have a vacancy for a Window Fabricator at our Cotes Park, Alfreton site. Liniar is an industry‑leading PVCu extrusion company, designing and supplying a large portfolio of PVCu and aluminium profiles and products to a nationwide customer base of specialist window and door manufacturers, housebuilders, decking installers, landscapers and trade outlets.

Purpose Of The Role

Reporting into the Works Manager, you’ll be responsible for assembling high‑quality plastic and aluminium components by reading and interpreting technical drawings and applying best practices in industrial plastic/aluminium fabrication. You’ll work with a range of hand tools and dedicated machinery to meet precise specifications.

Main Duties And Responsibilities

  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings and determining the most effective assembly methods
  • Selecting appropriate fabrication techniques based on material and design
  • Safe use of various hand tools and automated equipment
  • Setting up and jigging multiple components for consistent fabrication
  • Conducting quality checks and self‑inspections to meet CTQ (Critical to Quality) standards
  • Supporting the smooth running of the fabrication area through daily tasks and upkeep
  • Following all health & safety and operational guidelines on the shop floor

Key Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong attention to detail, a problem‑solving mindset, and an understanding of machining methods (including CNC) are essential to maximise productivity.
  • Ability to read detailed technical drawings
  • Proactive, punctual, and committed to learning, with a positive attitude and strong teamwork skills
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and as part of a team.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous knowledge/experience within conservatory roof and aluminium bi‑fold door fabrication industry would be preferable but not essential as training would be provided.
  • GCSE grade A‑C in Maths (or equivalent)

You will be part of something Bigger. Liniar are a subsidiary of the Quanex Building Products Corporation operating out of 30+ locations.

Hours of Work & Salary

Monday – Friday 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Cotes Park, Alfreton. 42.5 hours per week.
