We have a vacancy for a PU Foam Graduate Chemist working at our Henlow site. Duties will include planning and performing experiments, such as formulation or material testing, supporting the chemical manager on projects and activities.
Main Tasks & Responsibilities
- Apply chemistry fundamentals to design and troubleshoot formulations, understand ingredients interactions and optimise end use performance across target applications.
- Screen additives and analyse formulation impacts on properties.
- Product Testing: Conduct physical and analytical testing, quality analysis, new product validation and operation support.
- Regulatory Compliance: Provide information and ensure that all formulations meet environmental and safety standards (e.g., REACH, RoHS, VOC regulations).
- Technical Documentation: Maintain detailed lab notebooks, contribute to Technical Data Sheets (TDS) and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).
- Support if needed the USA brand on PU chemistry related to new product development and/or problem-solving analysis.
Key Skills
- Bachelor's or master’s degree in chemistry, Polymer Science, or Chemical Engineering.
- Experience with analytical equipment such as FTIR.
- Strong problem-solving, data analysis, team collaboration and a high safety mindset are critical.
