The Communications Manager is responsible for supporting QTS’s external communications efforts to enhance the company’s brand, reputation, and community engagement. This role will focus on developing and executing strategic communications that promote QTS’s story across key audiences, including local communities, stakeholders, and media. This in-house role partners closely with marketing operations, public policy, development teams, and external agencies to create and deliver consistent, compelling messaging aligned with QTS’s corporate identity and mission.
The Communications Manager will also support media engagement and management, proactive storytelling, and go-to-community communications related to key initiatives and data centre growth.
- Develop and implement data-driven communications strategies aligned with QTS’s overall goals and objectives.
- Create and manage communications content across multiple channels, including press releases, media materials, website content, company statements, FAQs, and storytelling assets.
- Support the development of proactive narratives and “good news” stories at both national and local community levels across multiple European markets.
- Execute communications plans that support go-to-community strategies, stakeholder engagement, and data centre launches across key markets in Europe.
- Partner with cross-functional teams (marketing, development, public policy, community impact) to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment.
- Support media relations activities, including responding to inquiries, coordinating interviews, and assisting with proactive outreach.
- Monitor and analyse industry news, community sentiment, and competitive activity to identify opportunities to strengthen QTS positioning.
- Track and report on communications metrics, including media coverage, sentiment, and engagement.
- Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including community leaders, partners, media contacts, and internal teams.
- Support and attend events, announcements, and community engagements; develop communications materials highlighting corporate milestones and initiatives.
What You Will Need to Be Successful:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Journalism, English, or a related field; equivalent professional experience considered.
- 5–8 years of experience in communications, public relations, or community engagement.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience creating compelling content aligned with Associated Press (AP) style guidelines.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in the technology, infrastructure, or data centre industry.
- Experience supporting stakeholder or community engagement communications.
- Familiarity with media monitoring and PR tools (e.g., Cision or similar platforms).
- Experience advising stakeholders or leaders on messaging and communications approach.

- Strong organisational and analytical skills with the ability to track and report on key metrics and insights.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Knowledge of communications and crisis response best practices.
