Corporate Counsel supports the company's legal operations in a variety of matters, with a focus that includes general corporate matters, regulatory and compliance matters, insurance, vendor contract negotiations, internal corporate policies and procedures, along with drafting and negotiating other transactional matters.
Responsibilities
- Overseeing construction and infrastructure/energy related legal matters
- Negotiating and drafting energy and vendor contracts as well as various other transactional matters
- Assisting with legal and regulatory compliance
- Assisting with compliance with various domestic and international privacy laws
- Assisting with management of the Company's insurance program and operations
- Assisting with a variety of other legal functions such as loans, joint ventures, acquisitions, general corporate matters, real estate, intellectual property protection, tax abatement, litigation, etc.
- Managing collections on customer accounts
- Performing a broad range of legal matters and general business matters based on the needs of the company, as assigned.
- Working with and managing outside counsel, counter-parties, insurers, and other third parties as needed.
Qualifications
- Qualified solicitor with strong academic credentials and currently registered with the Solicitors Regulation Authority
- Three or more years of legal experience as a practicing lawyer working in a construction/infrastructure transactional practice
