The predicted salary is between 11 - 16 £ per hour.

This is a brand new position that has been created due to expansion. My client is a global pharmaceutical manufacturing company looking to recruit an experienced Microbiologist where you will be carrying out high volume microbiology testing on finished drug products.

Duties and responsibilities include:

  • Conducting QC Microbiology testing on finished drug products.
  • Supporting the QC Scientist’s on microbiology testing.
  • Maintaining the microbiology laboratory.
  • Maintaining stock levels and preparation of logbooks.
  • Maintenance of lab equipment to include but not exclusively: Switching on VLF Class II cabinet, Boiling water / bead baths, Media preparation (pH testing of media, autoclave waste & sterilisation of equipment).
  • Maintenance of weekly stock culture isolates.
  • Washing Micro Glassware and use of glass washer.
  • Conducting In-process sampling testing when required.
  • Collective Environmental monitoring samples as required.
  • Conducting Growth Promotion testing of incoming goods.

The hours of work are either Tuesday - Saturday 7.00 am - 3.00 pm or 8.00 am - 4.00 pm. This is a 12 months contract based in Swindon which will be reviewed for a possible extension or go permanent however this is all dependent on the candidate and business performance. The PAYE rate is £13.58 per hour.

Skills:

  • Microbiologist qualification or similar.
  • Ideally Microbiology experience within the pharmaceutical industry or another highly regulated environment.
  • Good IT skills – Word, Excel and Outlook.
