If you have a keen eye for detail and past experience in a care setting, then this could be the perfect flexible opportunity for you! You will be supporting elderly service users who have a range of physical and mental illnesses/disabilities. Working alongside established teams, you will bring excellent care to the individuals that need it most. Service users’ ailments include dementia, Alzheimer’s Disease, strokes and other age‑related illnesses and mobility issues.
You will also assist with the resident’s activities of daily living, including personal care, moving/handling and caring for their nutritional and hygiene needs. You must have an awareness and passion to work with people with dementia and be prepared to be proactive on the job.
Minimum requirements for Care Assistants are:
- Safeguarding training within 1 year
- Infection Control training within 1 year
- Moving and Handling training within 1 year
- A DBS check for adult’s services dated within the last 12 months preferably on the update service
- A minimum of 3 months experience in a Health and Social Care environment
QS Care can provide training opportunities for candidates with training that has expired. Additionally, we can arrange a DBS application on behalf of the candidate where the last check was done over 1 year ago and is not on the update service.
This is a role for ongoing hours. You will be working on Saturdays or Sundays with typical hours being:
- 07:00 to 14:15
- 14:00 to 22:00
You will be paid £12.75 per hour.
