We are currently recruiting for a Production Operator to join a well-established food packaging manufacturer based in Rotherham. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a clean, modern manufacturing environment producing packaging used by leading food brands.
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating and monitoring automated production machinery to ensure safe, efficient and high-quality output.
Key Responsibilities- Operating and minding production machinery used in the manufacture of food packaging
- Monitoring machine performance and product quality
- Carrying out basic machine adjustments and changeovers
- Identifying and reporting faults or quality issues
- Maintaining accurate production and quality records
- Ensuring all work is carried out in line with food hygiene, safety and quality standards
- Keeping the production area clean, tidy and compliant with site standards
Due to the nature of the products being manufactured, strict food hygiene and contamination control procedures must be followed at all times, including:
- Wearing correct PPE
- Following hand-washing and hygiene protocols
- Adhering to clean-as-you-go and housekeeping rules
Experience in a manufacturing, production or machine operating role (food or packaging desirable but not essential)
- Comfortable working with machinery and automated equipment
- Good attention to detail and quality awareness
- Able to follow processes, procedures and safety standards
- Reliable, punctual and able to work as part of a team
- Willing to work rotating shifts
Full training will be provided.
This role operates on a weekly rotating shift pattern:
- Week 1: 05:45 – 14:00
- Week 2: 13:45 – 22:00
- Monday to Thursday with early finishes on a Friday.
£12.21 per hour.
