Job Description

Looking for a Class 1 driving role that keeps your weekends free? We’re recruiting experienced HGV Class 1 Drivers for an established operation in Grantham, offering regular weekday work, daytime shifts and consistent delivery routes.

You’ll be responsible for completing deliveries and collections along allocated routes, ensuring goods are transported safely and arrive within the required timeframes.

This role combines driving with customer-facing responsibilities, so you’ll need to be comfortable managing your own workload, working independently and representing the company professionally at delivery locations.

Your duties will include carrying out vehicle checks, following planned routes and schedules, handling goods safely and communicating effectively with customers throughout the day.

Duration: This is an ongoing temporary position, with continued work available for reliable drivers who demonstrate a professional attitude and strong performance.

Contract Type: Temporary

Hourly Rate: The role pays £16.00 per hour PAYE, with regular Monday-to-Friday work, daytime shifts and consistent hours. You’ll also have the opportunity to accrue up to 28 days’ annual leave pro rata.

Working Hours: The position operates Monday to Friday, with early morning starts and regular daytime shifts. Additional hours may be required depending on workload, offering the opportunity to work consistent hours throughout the week.

Experience & Qualifications

You must hold a valid UK HGV Class 1 licence (Category C+E), a valid Driver CPC Card and a valid Digital Tachograph Card. Previous HGV Class 1 driving experience is essential.

You’ll also need a good knowledge of UK roads and driving regulations, a reliable and professional approach, and strong communication and customer service skills. The ability to manage your own route and work independently is important.
