Our client is a leading provider of diagnostic technology, supporting laboratories and healthcare facilities across the UK and Ireland.

As part of a highly successful global in-vitro diagnostics organisation, they have built an excellent reputation for high-quality products, service and reliability.

We are looking for a Field Service Deployment Engineer to join the wider Field Service team on a 6-month fixed-term contract, providing dedicated technical support for planned technology refreshes and infrastructure lifecycle activities across the installed analyser base.

About the Role

As a Field Service Deployment Engineer, you will carry out planned field-based IT deployment activities, ensuring systems are upgraded, configured and maintained efficiently while minimising disruption to laboratory operations.

  • Windows operating system upgrades and security patch remediation
  • System imaging, reimaging and configuration
  • IT hardware installation, replacement and commissioning
  • Software installation and configuration
  • Data backup, migration and restoration
  • System validation and troubleshooting
  • Supporting IT infrastructure and end-user technology
  • Working closely with Field Service Engineers, Technical Support and Product Management
  • Liaising directly with customers and providing professional technical support
  • Travelling to customer sites across the UK as required

About You

We're looking for an experienced IT professional who enjoys working hands-on in customer environments and is confident troubleshooting technical issues.

  • 2+ years' experience in 2nd Line IT Support or an equivalent IT role
  • Strong experience providing field-based IT support
  • Experience with operating system deployment, imaging, configuration and troubleshooting
  • Proven experience installing, replacing and commissioning PC hardware
  • Understanding of networking fundamentals, including IP addressing and connectivity troubleshooting
  • Experience with data backup, migration and restoration
  • Strong IT infrastructure and end-user technology knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong technical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
  • A flexible approach to work and willingness to travel
  • A full UK driving licence
