Are you a cycling enthusiast with a passion for bikes, excellent technical knowledge and a talent for helping people? Our client, a leading distributor of branded cycle components, is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and knowledgeable Customer Sales Advisor to join their team in Milton Keynes. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who lives and breathes cycling, has a strong technical understanding of bicycles and enjoys sharing their expertise with others. Whether it's road bikes, mountain bikes, components or the latest cycling technology, you'll be confident talking all things bikes and helping customers (retailers) find the right products for their needs.
Reporting to the Head of Customer Services, the successful candidate will play an important role in delivering an excellent customer experience, combining their technical knowledge with a proactive approach to sales and customer support.
The Role
No two days will be quite the same. You'll be dealing directly with customers, providing expert product advice, identifying sales opportunities and ensuring they receive the support they need. Responsibilities will include:
- Handling inbound customer sales enquiries by telephone and email.
- Proactively contacting customers to promote special offers, new products and the latest product information.
- Providing knowledgeable technical advice across an extensive range of cycle components.
- Supporting customers with product queries and helping them identify the right solutions.
- Working closely with the Brand and Sales teams to ensure customers receive outstanding support.
- Managing your own workload and prioritising multiple tasks effectively.
- Building strong customer relationships and identifying opportunities to grow sales.
About You
Our client is looking for someone who is genuinely passionate about bicycles and has the technical knowledge to back it up. Ideally, you'll have experience within the cycle industry, although a strong technical background and genuine enthusiasm for cycling are equally important. You'll ideally have:
- Excellent all-round technical knowledge of bicycles, particularly Road and MTB.
- A good understanding of cycle components, specifications and compatibility.
- Knowledge of Shimano products (highly desirable).
- Previous experience in a customer-facing sales or customer service role.
- Excellent communication skills and a confident, professional telephone manner.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload.
- Confidence using Microsoft Office.
- A positive, proactive attitude and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Above all, you'll be approachable, enthusiastic and someone who enjoys talking bikes just as much as helping customers.
The Opportunity
This is a great opportunity to join an established business at the heart of the cycling industry, working with some of the best-known brands in the market. If you're looking to turn your passion and technical knowledge of cycling into a rewarding full-time career, this could be the ideal opportunity. If you know your way around a bike, enjoy working with people and have a genuine passion for cycling, we'd love to hear from you!
Please note due to the volume of applications we receive you will only be contacted if we are progressing your application.
