We are recruiting for a Health & Safety Manager for a global manufacturing business committed to operational excellence, continuous improvement, and maintaining high standards of safety across the operation. This is a key role within the business, responsible for ensuring compliance with legal requirements, maintaining effective management systems, and driving continuous improvement in safety performance. Working closely with operational and quality teams, you will provide practical support, guidance and leadership to ensure Health & Safety remains a core focus across the site.

The successful candidate will play a central role in developing a positive safety culture, supporting management teams, and ensuring robust processes are in place to protect employees, contractors and visitors.

About You

You will be an experienced Health & Safety professional with a strong understanding of manufacturing environments and safety management systems. You will be comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels, providing practical advice, coaching managers and driving improvements through effective engagement and accountability. You will have a methodical approach to compliance, auditing and risk management, together with the ability to influence positive behavioural change across the organisation.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Experience in a Health & Safety role within manufacturing, production, FMCG or a similar operational environment.
  • Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and management systems.
  • Experience conducting audits, inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations.
  • Ability to analyse data and report on Health & Safety performance metrics.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience delivering training and supporting operational teams.
  • Organised, detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.

Desirable Qualifications

  • NEBOSH Certificate, General Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • IOSH membership or qualification.
  • Internal Auditor qualification or experience.
  • Experience working with ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and occupational Health & Safety management systems.
