Lead. Improve. Influence. Deliver. We’re looking for a commercially sharp, hands-on Finance Manager who wants more than just month-end reporting. This is a key leadership role within a fast-moving manufacturing and logistics group where finance is central to operational success. You’ll lead a small team, partner closely with production and commercial colleagues, and play a pivotal role in driving performance, improving systems, and strengthening financial control. If you thrive in an SME environment where you can genuinely make an impact this is your opportunity.
Why This Role Stands Out:
- True business partnering with operations and commercial teams
- Ownership of finance across multiple entities
- Opportunity to drive process improvement and automation
- High visibility role with real influence on decision-making
- Strong operational focus - not just reporting
The Role:
You’ll take ownership of the full finance function, ensuring accurate reporting, strong controls, and meaningful commercial insight. You’ll lead:
- Monthly management accounts and financial reporting
- Budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning
- Cashflow management and working capital performance
- Payroll, pensions and statutory compliance
- Cost accounting, production analysis and margin improvement
- System optimisation (Microsoft Business Central)
- Audit preparation and statutory reporting
This is a hands-on role. You’ll roll up your sleeves when needed, while also stepping back to analyse trends, improve processes and support strategic decisions.
What We’re Looking For:
We want someone who:
- Ideally has strong experience in manufacturing and logistics
- Is confident across end-to-end finance in an SME environment
- Ideally has advanced knowledge of Microsoft Business Central
- Is AAT / ACCA / CIMA qualified, part-qualified, or highly experienced
- Understands cost structures, stock, production variances and operational finance
- Can communicate financial insight clearly to non-finance teams
- Enjoys improving systems and reducing manual processes
- Is driven, resilient and solutions-focused
- Advanced Excel skills are essential.
What Success Looks Like:
- Timely, accurate monthly reporting
- Improved controls and streamlined processes
- Stronger cashflow and working capital management
- Meaningful cost and margin improvements
- A motivated, high-performing finance team
- Finance recognised as a true commercial partner to the business
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated Finance Manager who wants ownership, influence and the ability to shape how finance supports operational performance. If you’re commercially minded, systems savvy, and ready to make a measurable impact we’d love to hear from you.
