About the Role
Quality Care Recruit is hiring on behalf of a well-established family-run care home provider with an outstanding reputation across the South West and Midlands. Known for their compassionate and high-quality care, our client provides personalised services across a number of luxury care homes. We are seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join their finance team, supporting the smooth operation of their finance and revenue functions to ensure each resident continues to receive the highest standard of care in a safe and welcoming environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Ledger Support : Conduct weekly and monthly reconciliations for Local Authorities, manage resident admissions and discharges, and update contract terms as needed.
- Income Reconciliation : Ensure timely month-end income reconciliation, monitor overdue balances, and issue reminders per credit control policies.
- Payment Coordination : Develop positive relationships with customers to facilitate timely payments and collaborate with internal sales teams to resolve outstanding issues.
- Account Management : Manage a shared inbox for customer queries, invoices, and statements, ensuring prompt and professional communication.
- Reconciliation Duties : Perform daily reconciliation of customer accounts and bank statements using Sage 200.
- Debt Analysis : Monitor accounts for potential bad debt, providing regular updates to the Financial Controller.
- Ad-hoc Support : Assist in implementing new financial policies and managing historical debts as required.
Candidate Profile
- Qualifications : Minimum GCSE in English and Maths (A-C grade or equivalent).
- Experience : At least one year in credit control or accounting within a high-transaction or labour-intensive environment; experience in the care sector is a plus.
- Skills : Strong reconciliation skills, proficiency in MS Office (particularly Excel), and experience with Sage 200 is advantageous.
- Personal Attributes : Self-motivated with excellent prioritization skills, a strong team player, and possesses outstanding interpersonal abilities.
