Job Purpose: Build client portfolio and revenue growth by building relationships with existing and potential clients.
Principal Accountabilities:
- Meet and exceed targets and take responsibility for own performance.
- Increase sales by generating leads and winning new business through a programme of verbal and written communications.
- Identification and development of new business opportunities.
- Underwrite and consider each risk before presenting to insurers and authorised signatories.
- Negotiate with Insurers and process new policy terms/quotes.
- Creating strategies for growth and improving business procedures.
- Convert enquiries into sales to actively grow the business to targets.
- Complete and maintain all client communications and records including preparing quotations.
- Support the development of products and services offered by the company including cross selling and upselling of the Business Solutions products meeting monthly and annual targets.
- Obtaining leads and cross selling the General Insurance products that you have identified are relevant to your clients through your fact find.
- Dealing with all calls of a technical nature from the Insurers and the Clients.
- Delivering good customer service by responding swiftly to queries and concerns from clients, insurers and brokers.
- Remain abreast of current processes and services offered by the company and be aware of changes.
- Attending team meetings/huddles and sharing best practice with wider QCG team.
- Ad-hoc project support.
- Updating CRM at all customer touchpoints to ensure valid MI can be taken out of the system and supports SLA's and KPI's.
- Set a good example to other staff in attitude to work and general working practices.
- Completion of training and development hours to support CPD and CII including mandatory modules via Broker Assess to comply with FCA regulation.
- Following TCF principles and applying FCA's 6 key outcomes to your role.
- Ensure all statutory and company legislation is followed to protect clients, colleagues and business interest.
Knowledge & Experience:
- Proven experience in sales, managing relationships with customers, insurers and key stakeholders.
- Demonstrable ability to meet and/or exceed sales targets.
- Working towards or prepared to study for CII exams is preferable.
- Technical knowledge of insurance is preferable.
- Insurance broking experience is preferable.
Skills:
- A drive and genuine passion to learn and develop within insurance and sales.
- Active listening skills with the emotional resilience to work under pressure.
- Be a strong communicator, as well as having a natural sales flair.
- Able to work co-operatively with other team members.
- Adaptability and management of the continual changes within the insurance landscape.
- Capable of working on own initiative and managing own workload effectively.
- Competent with Microsoft office, word, excel and outlook.
- Articulate and presentable with the ability to communicate effectively both verbal and written.
