Position

The role is responsible for providing high-quality administrative and secretariat support to the Assistant Company Secretary, the Executive Director of Corporate Affairs, the wider Executive team, and the QAA Board and its sub-committees (including the Nursing and Midwifery Council oversight committee), ensuring that business needs are met. The role will also Support the Assistant Company Secretary and Executive Director of Corporate Affairs with information requests, complaints and appeals (also known as representations) and maintain the Agency’s annual corporate calendar and ensure that statutory registers and others are up to date.

Requirements

We’re looking for someone with experience in governance and committee servicing to join our Governance team. You’ll have experience in providing administrative and executive support in a professional environment, working with senior managers and liaising with customers or external stakeholders and of handling sensitive and confidential information with care. You’ll have a proactive, collaborative mindset and excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues at all levels. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail are essential, as are excellent organisational and prioritisation skills with a flexible can-do attitude and an ability to adjust to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines. You will have a keenness to develop expertise in governance and the higher education sector more generally, and an interest in sustainability and ways to improve carbon reporting and meet QAA’s net zero by 2040 target.

We’re looking for a highly organised Governance Support Officer to help support our Board, its subcommittees and the wider Agency, as part of our Corporate Affairs team.

Location: We offer employees the opportunity to work flexibly from home, providing it is within the UK

Job type: Part time (0.5FTE), permanent

Hours: 17.5 hours per week, flexible working available

Band: 3

Salary: £24,750 – £31,200 pro rata per annum, dependent upon knowledge, skills and experience, plus excellent benefits
