About The Role

We are seeking a Product Owner (PO) to lead the Data Acquisition Squad, responsible for developing, enhancing, and managing the full lifecycle of Qualitrol’s data acquisition and monitoring solutions.

This role requires direct collaboration with end-users, establishing customer panels for continuous validation, and ensuring that product development follows Agile best practices while maintaining alignment with industry compliance and cybersecurity protocols. The PO will work closely with Scrum teams, engineering, and product management to ensure the successful execution of the roadmap and continuous innovation in data acquisition and industrial automation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Multi-Generation Product Roadmap & Market Needs
  • Develop and maintain a multi-generation product roadmap to ensure data acquisition solutions evolve based on customer needs, industry advancements, and regulatory requirements.
  • Regularly gather and analyze end-user feedback to identify unmet market needs and emerging trends in data acquisition and industrial monitoring.
  • Collaborate with product management, engineering, and commercial teams to translate market insights into actionable strategies.
  • Customer Panels & Continuous Requirement Validation
    • Establish and manage customer panels composed of utility operators, field engineers, and industry experts to validate features and roadmap.
    • Conduct regular customer reviews and validation sessions to refine product requirements and prioritize enhancements.
    • Leverage direct engagement with users to ensure solutions align with real-world operational challenges.
  • Backlog Management & Full Product Lifecycle Ownership
    • Own and maintain a prioritized, well-defined backlog of user stories and technical requirements.
    • Ensure the backlog covers the full product lifecycle, from installation and commissioning to end-of-life planning.
    • Define critical product behaviors to ensure long-term reliability, security, and scalability.
  • Full Ownership of Product Lines (Cradle to Grave)
    • Act as the single point of accountability, managing solutions from inception to decommissioning.
    • Develop strategies for feature evolution, enhancements, and end-of-life transitions to maximize product value.
    • Ensure solutions remain technically relevant, compliant, and aligned with industry advancements.
  • Agile Execution & Gemba-Driven Development
    • Work closely with the Scrum Master and development teams to ensure smooth execution of the roadmap.
    • Promote Gemba practices by ensuring direct exposure to customer environments, field operations, and real-world data usage.
    • Ensure transparency in delivery progress, proactively addressing roadblocks for the development team.

    Key Qualifications

    • 5+ years of experience in a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role in industrial software, energy, or utility solutions.
    • Strong experience in data acquisition, substation automation, grid monitoring, or industrial IoT solutions.
    • Proven track record in developing and managing multi-generation product roadmaps.
    • Experience establishing customer panels and driving user-driven product enhancements.
    • Hands-on experience in backlog management covering the full product lifecycle.
    • Proficiency in Agile methodologies (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban) and backlog tools (Jira, Azure DevOps).
    • Strong technical understanding of cloud-based platforms, APIs, system integration, and compliance-heavy software products.
    • Ability to work closely with engineering, commercial, and customer success teams to drive alignment and execution.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience integrating AI/ML-driven analytics into industrial software solutions.
    • Knowledge of industry standards (MISRA C++, ISO 26262, cybersecurity protocols, etc.).
    • Background in deploying SaaS-based B2B industrial solutions.
