Your Impact

The Production Manager/VSL will lead and coordinate the training and activities of team members to meet production volume, quality, delivery, and cost goals. They will play a key role in continuously improving plant policies and production techniques to enhance quality and efficiency.

Here’s where you’ll demonstrate your skills:

  • Establish performance standards and objectives for the Value Stream Team aligned with site and future goals.
  • Develop and implement an annual operating plan, including Kaizen opportunities, capital projects, productivity initiatives, and budget management.
  • Scale Fortive Business Systems (Fortive\’s Continuous Improvement Methodology) and foster engagement through the development of cell leaders, buyer/planners, quality engineers, and operators.
  • Lead daily, weekly, and monthly Gemba reviews to ensure alignment and focus on exceeding customer expectations.
  • Ensure product quality, on-time shipments, and proper management of production materials within assigned cells. Collaborate with customers to ensure order fulfillment.
  • Set takt time goals based on production forecasts and schedules, and maintain current and future state maps of the value stream.
  • Handle hiring, training, performance evaluations, and other employee-related actions.

Skills & Experience

The ideal candidate will demonstrate:

  • A BS in Engineering, Business, or Production Management (preferred).
  • 3-5 years of experience as a first-line supervisor/manager.
  • Strong leadership and motivation skills, with a track record of leading successful teams in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Experience managing teams of 30-100 employees and resolving personnel and production issues.
  • Excellent time management, troubleshooting, planning, follow-through, and quality improvement skills.
  • Knowledge of Oracle business systems (advantageous).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and management levels.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
