We seek a meticulous and detail-oriented Electrical Test Technician to join our team. In this role, you will conduct comprehensive electrical system tests to ensure that products meet all performance, quality, and safety standards before they are delivered to our clients. Your ability to work closely with design, production, and quality assurance teams to identify and resolve any issues is crucial. This collaborative approach is key to ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of excellence. Your work will directly impact the reliability and performance of our products. We are seeking someone to help drive continuous improvement in our manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:- Independently plan, execute, and validate complex functional and system-level tests.
- Act as a technical escalation point for Functional Test Technicians.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Mentor and coach test technicians, including on-the-job training.
- Support new product introduction and complex FAT activities.
- Provide input into test equipment selection, setup, and validation.
- Perform final acceptance tests on electrical systems, including functional, performance, and safety tests.
- Compile comprehensive test reports, including test results, observations, and any identified issues.
- Maintain accurate and organized records of all tests performed and their outcomes.
- Communicate test results and findings to relevant stakeholders, including engineers and project managers.
- Review design specifications, schematics, and other technical documents to understand the requirements and performance criteria of the electrical systems.
- Lead advanced troubleshooting and root-cause analysis for recurring or critical failures, and collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and production to drive solutions.
- Participate in post-test reviews, identify trends in test failures and proactively drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Review, improve, and help define test procedures, methods, and acceptance criteria.
- HND/HNC or similar in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in electrical system testing.
- Proven experience performing Final Acceptance test (FAT) in a manufacturing environment.
- Deep understanding of electrical systems, components, and testing methodologies.
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements related to electrical systems.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior technicians (desirable).
- Strong understanding of health, safety and compliance in electrical testing environments.
- Proficient in the use of electrical test equipment and tools.
- Advanced fault finding and root cause analysis.
- High level of attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Ability to mentor, coach and support test technicians.
- Excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical drawings.
- Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and teamwork abilities.
- Strong planning, prioritisation and time management skills.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and best practices.
Location: Belfast Production & Testing

Benefits:- Full time, Set Schedule: Working at Qualitrol, you will have a regular Monday to Friday 37.5-hour work week working Mon-Thurs 08:00 16:30, Fri 08:00 13:30.
