Join the Qualitrain Team – Rail Engineering Trainer/Assessors (x2)

Location: East Midlands and wider areas

Contract: Full-time, 1-year fixed term (with a view to permanent)

We are looking for two exceptional Rail Engineering Trainer/Assessors to join our growing team, supporting a high-profile competency training programme for approximately 140 contractors.

You’ll play a key role in delivering a Level 1 and 2 Mechanical and Electrical Installation Competency programme, to ensure our client’s workforce is job-ready and safety-compliant.

The Roles

· 1 x Mechanical-biased Rail Engineering Trainer

· 1 x Electrical-biased Rail Engineering Trainer (We also welcome applications from those with dual-discipline experience.)

What You’ll Do

· Deliver engaging, hands-on training aligned with the Competency Management System (CMS) and NTAR standards.

· Facilitate practical assessments using real-world rail vehicle assembly rigs.

· Support learners in mastering key competencies such as:

o Mechanical installation (e.g. torque tightening, earth bonding)

o Reading and interpreting technical drawings

· Collaborate with training partners to ensure training is aligned with operational needs.

· Provide assessment records for CMS and support workshop setup.

What You’ll Need

· A recognised Level 3 teaching qualification (e.g. AET, PTLLS or above)

· A vocational qualification at Level 3 or above in your specialist area (mechanical or electrical)

· Rail sector experience and a practical, learner-centred approach

· Competitive salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per year

· Delivered on-site or at the Qualitrain Engineering Academy.

· Training groups of 6–10 learners at a time.
