Role Overview
Qualitest is looking for a RAN Performance Test Engineer to support performance validation and optimisation activities across 4G and 5G mobile network environments. The role will focus on executing RAN performance testing, analysing network behaviour under load, and supporting troubleshooting activities using industry-standard tools and methodologies. This position requires hands‑on experience with RAN performance testing, including practical knowledge of Viavi load generators and XCAL MAIS for network analysis and validation.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute RAN performance and capacity testing across 4G and 5G network environments
- Perform load and stress testing using Viavi load generator tools
- Analyse network KPIs, logs, and performance metrics using XCAL MAIS
- Support validation of network stability, throughput, latency, and mobility scenarios
- Investigate and troubleshoot RAN performance issues and bottlenecks
- Work closely with RAN, Core, and integration teams to support issue resolution
- Produce detailed test reports, findings, and recommendations
- Support continuous improvement of performance test strategies and processes
- Participate in test planning, execution, and defect triage activities
Required Skills & Experience
- Strong hands‑on experience in RAN Performance Testing
- Good understanding of 4G/LTE and 5G RAN technologies
- Experience using RAN load generators for performance and stress testing
- Hands‑on experience with Viavi tools
- Experience using XCAL MAIS for network analysis and KPI validation
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills within telecom network environments
- Ability to analyse logs, counters, traces, and performance data
- Experience working within telecom test or integration environments
Nice to Have
- Exposure to end‑to‑end telecom network testing
- Experience working with operators or telecom vendors
- Knowledge of mobility, handover, and throughput testing scenarios
- Scripting or automation experience (Python/Shell)
