Role Overview
The Digital Engineering Lead - EMEA will drive technology strategy, solution design, and innovation across digital transformation engagements. This leader will combine deep technical expertise with hands-on experience to architect, propose, and deliver modern digital solutions leveraging cloud-native, AI-infused, and engineering-first approaches. The role requires strong customer engagement skills – translating complex technical concepts into clear business value for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical Leadership: Lead end-to-end solution architecture and design for complex digital transformation programs across multiple industries. Guide teams in building modern, scalable, and resilient applications using microservices, APIs, cloud-native, and event-driven architectures. Stay hands-on where needed – driving PoCs, design reviews, and solution validations.
- Innovation And Gen AI Adoption: Champion AI and Gen AI–driven engineering practices, embedding intelligent automation, code acceleration, and AI-based quality improvement across SDLC. Foster innovation by incubating new solution accelerators and reusable assets leveraging AI, ML, and automation.
- Customer Engagement & Solutioning: Lead technical solution design, estimation, and proposal preparation for RFPs, proactive pitches, and client pursuits. Present solutions confidently to customer architects, CIOs, and business leaders, demonstrating both technical excellence and business relevance. Partner with account and delivery teams to shape digital roadmaps and identify growth opportunities.
- Delivery Oversight: Oversee architecture governance and ensure technology choices align with customer strategy and enterprise standards. Provide thought leadership and mentor delivery teams in applying modern engineering practices (DevSecOps, CI/CD, Cloud-native, API-first, etc.).
- Practice & Capability Building: Build and scale digital engineering competency across North America – covering full-stack development, cloud modernization, and intelligent automation. Collaborate with global innovation and CoE teams to drive reusable frameworks, accelerators, and Gen AI enablers.
Required Skills & Experience
- 15+ years in software engineering, digital solutioning, and technology leadership roles.
- Proven track record in solution architecture, proposal response, and customer presentations for large digital transformation programs.
- Deep understanding of modern architecture paradigms – microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, cloud-native (AWS/Azure/GCP), containers, and serverless.
- Strong exposure to application modernization, full-stack development, and DevSecOps.
- Experience in Gen AI and AI-assisted engineering – e.g., integrating LLMs, intelligent automation, or AI-based developer productivity tools.
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills – able to bridge between business goals and technical implementation.
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on, problem-solving approach and the ability to operate in complex, fast-paced environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior experience in pre-sales or solutioning leadership for digital or application engineering portfolios.
- Exposure to industry-specific digital transformation initiatives (e.g., healthcare, manufacturing, BFSI, or retail).
- Certifications in cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP) and architecture (TOGAF, SAFe, etc.).
- Track record of publishing thought leadership, innovation frameworks, or Gen AI–driven solutions.
