Qualiteach Yorkshire are looking for an experienced Level 2 SEN Learning Support Assistant for a specialist school in Leeds for children with moderate and complex learning needs. The setting is a large SEN school with multiple sites who cater for a mix of ages, and are looking for someone with experience to join their team full time within their primary sector ASAP.
The Role:
- Working within a 1:1 and group basis who have a variety of needs, tailoring learning to suit them
- Working within a team and helping to build a comfortable environment for all children and staff
- Following care plans, EHCP’s, Pupil Passports and other relevant documents
- Being comfortable with personal care is advantageous
- Supporting a fantastic curriculum that teaches the children and young adults real life skills, as well as subject specific knowledge
What you will need:
- Experience of working with children who have complex needs
- A willingness to ‘jump in’ and help where necessary
- Being comfortable with taking pupils for outings, supporting their independence and being a positive influence
- Be able to assist the children with their emotional literacy, helping them to co and self regulate
- Knowledge of different behaviour management techniques and how to support Special Educational Needs to best assist the array of needs of the children
- Level 2 or above qualification relating to education or childcare
