Graduate Teaching Assistant – Secondary School | Croydon Salary: £21,000 – £29,000 (depending on experience) Contract: Full-time, Term-Time Only (Fixed-Term for one academic year, with potential for extension or teacher training opportunities) Start Date: September 2025 Location: Croydon, South London About the Role: We are seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive secondary school in Croydon. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate who is considering a career in teaching or education. You will support classroom learning, work closely with students across a range of subjects, and gain valuable experience in a school environment. Key Responsibilities: * Provide in-class support to students under the direction of the class teacher * Support students with varying needs, including those with SEND or requiring additional academic support * Deliver small group interventions or 1:1 sessions to help students achieve learning goals * Help to prepare classroom resources and support lesson planning * Assist with supervision at break and lunchtimes, and contribute to the wider school community * Model positive behaviour and support the school\'s ethos of inclusion and high expectations The Ideal Candidate Will Have: * A university degree (any subject – education, psychology, English, maths or science are particularly welcomed) * A genuine interest in working with young people and supporting their progress * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills * The ability to work effectively as part of a team * Patience, resilience, and a positive, can-do attitude * An aspiration to pursue a career in education, teaching, or youth support
