Previous experience supporting pupils with SEMH or behavioural needs required. Experience working in a SEMH school, PRU or alternative provision desirable. Must be confident with behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
The Role - SEMH Teaching Assistant/Behaviour Mentor
Seeking a resilient and proactive SEMH Teaching Assistant/Behaviour Mentor to support pupils aged 11-16 within a specialist SEMH setting. You will work closely with teachers, therapists and pastoral staff to provide 1:1 and small-group support, helping pupils regulate their emotions, improve behaviour and re-engage with learning. The role involves implementing behaviour support plans, using de-escalation techniques, promoting emotional wellbeing and acting as a positive role model to encourage confidence, resilience and independence.
