Qualiteach Yorkshire are looking for an experienced Behaviour Support Assistant for a specialist school in Leeds for children with moderate and complex learning needs. The setting is an SEN school, who are looking for someone with a range of experience to join their team ASAP.
The Role:
- Working with children on a 1:1 and group basis who have a variety of needs, tailoring learning to suit them
- Working within a team and helping to build a comfortable environment for all children and staff, supporting challenging behaviour and SEN requirements
- Following care plans, EHCPs, Pupil Passports and other relevant documents
- Being comfortable with personal care is advantageous
- Using a holistic approach within a multi-disciplinary team of specialists
- Supporting the broad curriculum that involves core knowledge and non-subject specific learning
What you will need:
- Experience of working with children who have complex needs
- A willingness to jump in and help where necessary
- Being competent in helping to prepare the pupils for becoming ready for adulthood through being a positive role model and influence
- The ability to support challenging behaviour, encourage independence and be patient and willing to build long lasting relationships with pupils
