Qualiteach Yorkshire are looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a specialist school in South Leeds for children with moderate and complex learning needs. The setting is a large SEN school catering for primary and secondary age pupils, who are looking for someone with a range of experience to join their team ASAP.
The Role:
- Working with children on a 1:1 and group basis who have a variety of needs, tailoring learning to suit them
- Working within a team and helping to build a comfortable environment for all children and staff
- Following care plans, EHCPs, Pupil Passports and other relevant documents
- Being comfortable with personal care is advantageous
- Supporting a fantastic curriculum that teaches the children and young adults real life skills, as well as subject specific knowledge
What you will need:
- Experience of working with children who have complex needs
- A willingness to jump in and help where necessary
- Being comfortable with taking pupils for outings, supporting their independence and being a positive influence over this
- Be able to assist the children and young adults with their emotional literacy, helping them to co and self regulate
