Qualiteach Yorkshire are looking for an experienced Early Years Teaching Assistant for multiple schools in Leeds. This may include working with children with moderate and complex learning needs. The settings range from specialist SEN schools to mainstream schools who also work with children who have special education needs. These schools are looking for someone with a range of experience to join their teams.
The Role:
- Will involve supporting teachers with children who have a variety of needs, tailoring learning to suit them
- Working within a team and helping to build a comfortable environment for all children and staff, supporting challenging behaviour and SEN requirements
- Following care plans, EHCPs, Pupil Passports and other relevant documents where necessary
- Using a holistic approach within a multi-disciplinary team of specialists
- May include carrying out individual interventions to aid children's learning, as well as carrying out other duties to assist teachers
What you will need:
- Experience of working with children who have complex needs
- A willingness to jump in and help where necessary
- Being a positive role model and influence
- The ability to support challenging behaviour, encourage independence and be patient and willing to build long lasting relationships with pupils
- Have a good awareness of safeguarding procedures
