The Position - SEN Teacher

The school is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and adaptable SEN Teacher to join their specialist provision for a one-year maternity cover starting in September or October. The successful candidate will lead a small Upper KS2 mixed-needs class of approximately 10-12 pupils supported by two experienced Teaching Assistants. Pupils within the class have a range of additional needs including SEMH, Autism, and Speech & Language difficulties, and are currently working around two years below age-related expectations.

The school is looking for a teacher with a deep understanding of a range of SEN needs and the ability to deliver highly personalised, bespoke learning tailored to each pupil's individual needs and learning profile. A strong focus is placed on emotional regulation, consistency, and building positive relationships with pupils through a nurturing and therapeutic approach.

The ideal candidate will be patient, emotionally intelligent, and confident managing high SEMH needs in a calm and relationship-based way. Experience working within an SEN school, ARP, SEMH setting, or specialist provision would be highly beneficial.
