Qualiteach Yorkshire are looking for an experienced SEMH Teaching Assistant for a school in Huddersfield, Kirklees. This will include mentoring children who can exhibit challenging behaviour and require a consistent, trusted adult to support them. The school are looking for someone with a range of experience to join their team ASAP.
The Role:
- Can involve working with children on a 1:1 and group basis who have a variety of needs, tailoring learning to suit them
- Working within a team and helping to build a comfortable environment for all children and staff, supporting challenging behaviour and SEN requirements
- Following care plans, EHCPs, Pupil Passports and other relevant documents where necessary
- Using a holistic approach within a multi-disciplinary team of specialists
- Delivering small group and one-to-one interventions to support the teacher in students' development
What you will need:
- Experience of working with children who have complex needs
- A willingness to jump in and help where necessary
- Being a positive role model and influence
- The ability to support challenging behaviour, encourage independence and be patient and willing to build long lasting relationships with pupils
- Have a good awareness of safeguarding procedures
- Possess at least a Level 2 Education related qualification and experience within a school setting
