EAL Support Mentor required for the London Borough of Enfield for a long-term role starting in September. The ideal candidate will hold a recognised TESOL, TEFL or CELTA qualification (or equivalent) and have previous experience supporting EAL learners within a secondary school or educational setting.
As the successful EAL Support Mentor, you will work closely with students across KS3 and KS4 whose first language is not English, supporting them to develop their speaking, listening, reading and writing skills so they can fully access the curriculum. You will deliver targeted interventions, provide both in-class and small-group support, work alongside teaching staff to adapt learning where appropriate, monitor students' language development and encourage confidence both inside and outside the classroom.
