A fantastic opportunity has become available for a dedicated and experienced BSL Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary school in Newham. This full-time, long-term role is available for a September start and offers a competitive daily rate of £95 to £120, depending on experience.
The successful candidate will provide 1:1 support for a Year 6 pupil with hearing impairment, helping them to access learning and prepare for the transition to secondary school.
Do you have experience using British Sign Language (BSL) within an educational setting? Have you supported pupils with hearing impairments on a 1:1 basis? Are you passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential? If so, this could be the ideal role for you.
As a BSL Teaching Assistant, you will provide dedicated 1:1 support to a Year 6 pupil with a hearing impairment throughout the school day. You will work closely with the class teacher, SENDCo, and external professionals to ensure the pupil can fully access the curriculum and participate in all aspects of school life.
The role will involve using British Sign Language to support communication, adapting learning materials where necessary, reinforcing lesson content, and promoting the pupil's independence and confidence. You will play a vital role in supporting both the academic and social development of the child, helping them to make continued progress during their final year of primary education.
