New opportunity available in Waltham Forest for a 1:1 Teaching Assistant. Full-time role offering an immediate start with a daily rate of Β£90-Β£115, paid weekly.

Must have experience supporting children with SEN and working on a 1:1 basis.

The Position:

  • Qualiteach are seeking a dedicated 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 pupil with autism who is non-verbal.
  • The role involves providing consistent, compassionate support to enable access to learning, communication, and social interaction throughout the school day.
  • You must be confident using visual supports, structured routines, and sensory strategies, and able to work calmly under pressure.
  • Experience supporting pupils with autism is essential.
  • Knowledge or experience of Makaton would be highly desirable.
  • You will work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to implement personalised targets and support independence, wellbeing, and progress for the successful candidate.

  • The school is a four-form entry Primary school which is based across two sites.
  • The school was rated as Good by Ofsted.
  • The ideal candidate must be flexible with working in different year groups; however, the role is in Year 5.
