One-to-One Teaching Assistant required for a primary school in Southwark to support a pupil with SEMH and ASD. You will be working closely with the pupil to support their learning, behaviour and emotional development.
Previous experience supporting children with SEMH and/or ASD is highly desirable.
The successful candidate will provide consistent one-to-one support throughout the school day, helping the pupil access learning, manage their emotions and develop positive relationships within the school environment.
You will work closely with the class teacher and wider school team to understand the pupil's individual needs and provide appropriate support. This may include helping with emotional regulation, behaviour management, transitions, social interaction and engagement with classroom activities.
The school is looking for someone who is patient, resilient, proactive and able to build a strong and trusting relationship with the pupil.
