We’re currently supporting a leading UK consultancy looking for an experienced Network Engineer to design and deliver secure, scalable, and future-ready network infrastructures across their Space, Defence, and Intelligence projects. Your Role
- You’ll be responsible for architecting and delivering next-generation network solutions spanning enterprise, virtualised, and cloud platforms.
- Working closely with engineering, security, and cloud teams, you’ll:
- Design secure, resilient, high-performance networks across Cisco, Juniper, Arista, and SDN/SD-WAN environments.
- Deliver and optimise routing, switching, and service provider technologies including BGP, OSPF, EVPN/VXLAN, and MPLS.
- Implement advanced security controls including firewalls, segmentation, PKI, and zero-trust across hybrid environments.
- Apply automation and scripting to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
- Build cloud-ready connectivity for AWS, Azure, and GCP, including VPC/VNet designs and interconnects.
- Monitor and improve global infrastructures using observability and WAN optimisation tools.
What You’ll Bring
- We’re looking for a hands-on engineer with a proven track record designing and managing complex network infrastructures. Ideal candidates will have:
- Extensive experience with Cisco, Juniper, and/or Arista platforms.
- Strong knowledge of BGP, OSPF, IS-IS, EVPN/VXLAN, MPLS, and high-availability protocols.
- Experience with SD-WAN technologies (Cisco SD-WAN, Meraki, Aruba, Palo Alto Prisma).
- Familiarity with AWS, Azure, or GCP networking and hybrid cloud connectivity.
- Understanding of firewalls, PKI, load balancers, and segmentation.
- Ability to work within secure environments and meet UK clearance requirements.
