About Us

We are Qualifications Wales, the independent organisation responsible for regulating general and vocational qualifications in Wales. Our strategic priorities over the next five years are:

We are now looking for a Communications Officer to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37 hours per week. Requests for alternative working patterns, including part-time, job share or secondments, may be discussed at interview.

The Role

As Communications Officer, you will deliver clear, engaging and effective bilingual communications that bring our work to life for internal and external audiences. Working across the full communications mix, you will lead social media activity, produce high-quality bilingual content and manage the monthly audience newsletter, ensuring everything aligns with brand, accessibility and style guidelines. You will also take ownership of day-to-day campaign delivery and audience engagement, using data, CRM tools and professional judgement to reach the right people at the right time, while monitoring sentiment, performance and emerging issues.

Additionally, you will:

  • Research, analyse and report on channel performance, reach and engagement
  • Create engaging copy for campaigns, media releases, blogs, web and marketing materials
  • Respond to enquiries, represent us at events and support financial administration

About You

To be considered as a Communications Officer, you will need:

  • Experience within a communications team, or in a role which involved responsibility for internal or external communications
  • An understanding of the techniques and software used to create engaging content for digital and social channels
  • The ability to write clear, audience-appropriate copy for social media and websites
  • A good general education as evidenced by appropriate qualifications, particularly in relation to literacy
