We’re looking for a Payroll Officer to join the Finance Systems team.
Responsibilities- Support the day-to-day duties of the payroll team with enhanced technical knowledge to ensure accurate and timely payments to stakeholders in accordance with legislation, policy, procedures and deadlines.
- Check input of documents/forms on a timely basis for accuracy.
- Carry out other duties as required to ensure payment of employees and appointees are paid accurately and on time.
- Be proactive in identifying areas for improvement and have input into the development of action plans.
- Involvement in payroll related and cross functional projects.
- Cover for the Payroll Supervisor in their absence and provide support on day-to-day tasks including running payrolls for approximately 1,000 employees and 25,000 appointees.
- Have technical payroll knowledge in relation to statutory, legislative, pension and audit requirements.
- Have a working knowledge at a level to be able to provide specific financial guidance to others.
- Be educated to SCQF Level 7 (have or working towards a payroll/CIPP qualification) and/or be able to demonstrate direct relevant experience for this role.
