As a Frontend Engineer, you’ll focus on building web components and creating test coverage for our new design system and metadata driven UI objects that power our next generation UI console. In this role, you’ll report to one of our engineering managers and you’ll work closely with other front-end engineers and product designers to ensure accuracy, consistency, and portability. If you are passionate about building complex data driven user interfaces, this role is perfect for you.
What You'll Do
- Scale our design system by building web components based on Figma specification.
- Ensure proper test coverage, accessibility (a11y), theming and localization/internationalization (i18n) are baked into the components.
- Maintain and extend design tokens (css variables) to ensure coded components are in sync with Figma design specifications.
- Collaborate with UX architects, product designers, QA testing engineers to ensure components meet our design and engineering standards.
- Participate in scrum ceremonies, team planning sessions, short demos and roadmap reviews to ensure team is aligned on short- and long-term goals.
What you’ll need
- Experience in building user centric and scalable UI frameworks and design systems.
- Expert knowledge of the latest web standards and front-end engineering tools (HTML, CSS, Javascript, Web Components, REST API, GraphQL, Typescript, Node/NPM, Responsive UI).
- A good understanding of Cloud Technologies and end to end delivery of data intensive SaaS products.
- Experience with testing frameworks such as Playwright and Vitest.
- Experience with Accessibility (a11y) best practices, tools and techniques such as compatibility with keyboard navigation, screen readers and WCAG AA guidelines.
- Experience with localization and internationalization (i18n).
- Experience with front end frameworks such as React/Next.js, Vue, Ember (a huge plus).
- Knowledge of CI/CD best practices and tools for improving and maintaining performance and code quality.
- Strong communication skills in both verbal and written formats.
- Be a self-starter, take action without being directed and anticipate and plan for future needs.
- Comfortable providing short demos for your work.
- Be an advocate for UX consistency, accessibility and empathy for the end user.
