What You'll Be Doing
- Lead and manage the Mechanical Design team, overseeing capacity planning, resource allocation, and performance development.
- Produce system drawings, general arrangements, sub–assemblies, and detailed part drawings using 2D CAD and 3D Autodesk Inventor, in line with QHE design principles.
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
- Collaborate cross–functionally with Production, Procurement, Sales, R&D, and external suppliers and technical agencies.
- Implement design–for–manufacture principles and drive configuration management across the product range.
- Produce Pipe & Instrumentation Diagrams, Bill of Materials, and maintain technical documentation to ISO standards.
- Support recruitment, training, and formal appraisals within the Mechanical Design team.
- Provide design support to Manufacturing, Sales, and R&D, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Bring
- A degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
- Solid experience in mechanical design, ideally in special purpose machinery or manufacturing.
- Proven experience in leading and developing engineering teams.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
- Strong knowledge of sheet metal and machined component design, Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in the chemical and processing industry is highly advantageous.
- Ability to produce manufacturing–ready documentation and manage technical files to ISO standards.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office and excellent English communication skills.
