We are looking for a highly skilled

Fluid Intelligence Principal Engineer to lead the development and evolution of our Fluid Intelligence product portfolio.

This is a strategic and hands-on role that combines technical leadership, product development, project management, and cross-functional collaboration.

You will work closely with colleagues across Engineering, Commercial, Manufacturing, and Customer Support functions to deliver innovative solutions that create value for customers around the world.

What You'll Do

  • Product Leadership & Project Management
  • Lead the development, design, manufacture, and delivery of Fluid Intelligence products.
  • Drive product lifecycle management, research and development initiatives, and new product introductions.
  • Translate technical requirements into clear project plans, deliverables, and milestones.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary teams to ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Act as a key technical resource for commercial teams and customers, providing product expertise and support during installation and commissioning activities.
  • Monitor product performance and provide financial, operational, and KPI reporting.
  • Evaluate and implement make-versus-buy strategies to optimize quality, capacity, and cost.
  • Ensure products comply with relevant standards, regulations, and industry requirements.
  • Support the growth and development of colleagues through coaching, mentoring, and knowledge sharing.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across products, processes, and systems.
  • Engineering & Product Development
  • Develop innovative product concepts and create 3D design models.
  • Lead engineering design activities, including detailed CAD and assembly drawings.
  • Create engineering calculations and methodologies to support product standardization.
  • Maintain technical documentation and product files throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Develop operation and maintenance manuals and technical support materials.
  • Conduct engineering reviews, risk assessments, HAZOPs, FMEAs, and other design assurance activities.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance product performance, reliability, and customer value.

What We're Looking For

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Significant experience in engineering design, process engineering, special-purpose machinery, manufacturing, or a related technical environment.
  • Experience managing complex engineering projects, including budgets, timelines, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to interpret technical specifications and translate them into effective engineering solutions.
  • Experience supporting customers or stakeholders in technical and commercial environments.
  • Understanding of engineering standards, regulatory requirements, CE marking, risk assessments, and mechanical systems.
  • Proficiency in Auto CAD 2D, Autodesk Inventor 3D, or similar CAD software.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office and project management tools.
  • Effective communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to travel within the UK and internationally as required.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent.
  • Experience in metalworking or manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in research and development and/or new product development.
