As the Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for assisting in the production of the monthly accounts for a number of Quaker Houghton UK group companies and branches and will be working closely with the Senior Accountant and the wider Finance Team.
Tasks
What will you do?
To provide timely financial information, this will involve being responsible for certain balance sheet accounts for both businesses including preparation of reconciliations. There will be an involvement in monthly accounts, quarterly accounts, and year end accounts.
- Preparations of bank reconciliations.
- Review of prepayments and accruals and adjust where necessary.
- Reconciliation of inter-company accounts
- Reconciliation of control accounts and back up schedules.
- Monthly journals as required.
- Intercompany & manual invoicing.
- Involvement with year-end audits, SOX and internal controls where required.
- Preparation and submission of VAT returns and other returns.
- Assistance with various payroll reporting.
- Interaction with the bank on payment matters.
Requirements
What do we look for?
Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a similar accounting role. Any additional training needed will be provided.
Language: English professional level is a must.
Location: Based within reasonable commute to Manchester, we offer a hybrid working schedule.
