You are a DevOps/Site Reliability Engineer with experience managing complex infrastructure and deploying scalable, reliable systems. You are passionate about automation, cloud technologies, and continuous improvement.
Must have:
- Proven track record of managing cloud-based infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
- Strong CI/CD pipeline design experience using tools like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python, or Go.
- Experience with container orchestration tools such as Kubernetes, Docker Swarm, or HashiCorp Nomad.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Nice to have:
- Experience managing distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
- Knowledge of observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, or Datadog.
- Experience with security best practices, monitoring, and incident response.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps and compliance frameworks (ISO 27001, SOC 2, GDPR).
- Exposure to big data processing, ML pipelines, or simulation workflows.
Bonus:

Quaisr is an early stage startup backed by Crane Venture Partners (UK) and Acequia Capital (USA), along with international angel investors. We were founded on partnerships with leading engineering and research institutions including Imperial College London and The Alan Turing Institute. Our customers are early-adopter multinational organisations in the pharmaceuticals, fast-moving consumer goods, defence, and energy sectors.
Our office is in London (White City). This position is available full time in the UK.
We offer 25 days paid annual leave, in addition to UK bank holidays.
What you will do:
- Platform Operations (40%): Support the lifecycle of platform deployment, including provisioning, updating, monitoring, and scaling cloud infrastructure.
- Automation & Tooling (40%): Design and implement CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and system monitoring solutions.
- Technical Leadership & Documentation (20%): Create and maintain infrastructure documentation, contribute to technical blog posts, and mentor junior engineers.

Our hiring process:
- (30 mins) Introductory call with Quaisr. This is a chance to learn about Quaisr and to check that our plans align with your own. We want to get to know you.
- (90 mins) Technical call with two Quaisr team members. We’ll give you an opportunity to talk through a past programming experience, including taking us through some of your code. We want to learn more about you, and a little regarding how you think!
- (45 mins) Online coding exercise (with a Quaisr team member on the call) working on a practical task related to cloud deployment or automation.
- (45 mins) Follow-up with additional Quaisr team. You will meet your future team members and learn more about the role directly from us.
