Role and Responsibilities:

  • Review client remits and identify surveys required to undertake the design.
  • Co-ordinate and facilitate required surveys by planning rail access, preparation of works package plans, task briefings and risk assessments where required.
  • Day to day management of design deliverables.
  • Assist with managing and maintaining design trackers.
  • Assist with maintaining Value Engineering/Opportunities up to date for Efficiencies Tracker.
  • Assist the Design manager in ensuring key deliverables are managed and delivered in accordance with the agreed programme and price.
  • Liaise with QTS Delivery team to ensure designs are being delivered correctly.
  • Raise and close out relevant Technical Queries with both the Designers and Client.
  • Identify any scope change in design/surveys and highlight this to the Design Manager and commercial/estimating team.
  • Participate and engage fully in company appraisal/performance review processes and constantly work to improve your individual, your team and wider groups performance.

Skills required:

  • Proven Civil Engineering experience within railway environment (Essential).
  • BEng or BSc Minimum Degree in Civil Engineering or working towards.
  • Graduate membership of ICE or equivalent body and working towards corporate membership.
  • Familiar with the railway standards (Desirable).
  • Must be IT literate.
  • Good attention to detail and highly organised.
  • Full UK Driving Licence (Essential).
