About the position:
New Store Opening Specialist - Midlands Field Based Role
Chopstix is expanding and we’re looking for a proactive, hands-on NSO Specialist to Lead the Way in delivering high-impact new store openings across the UK. You’ll be at the heart of our growth, coordinating multiple projects, coaching teams, and ensuring every new store is operationally ready, customer-focused, and commercially successful.
To ensure all new store openings and investments are operationally ready to trade with a clear focus on delivering the company return-on-investment targets. This will be achieved with clear leadership throughout the NSO and refurbishment countdown and working with the Area Managers to support development and readiness of the opening team. The specialist will engage with all the stakeholders to guarantee the companies development process is delivered. By being a performance coach with a new team, the NSO specialist will deliver our customer and operational standards.
Being at the forefront of the developing brand they should demonstrate flexibility and commitment in delivering an outstanding performance of a new store opening and be an example to store management teams of what best in class looks like. To take ownership for investments and ensure pre, during and post-opening activity provide the best platform for success. This is a key role within our business and is at the heart of everything we do. It is extremely important to effectively manage your time to ensure maximum output and delivery of all company targets and goals.
What You’ll Do:
- Project manage 3–4 openings at a time, from setup to handover
- Recruit, train, and coach store teams to deliver best-in-class service
- Collaborate with Area Managers, restaurant managers, and training teams
- Drive performance across our four pillars: People, Quality, Sales, and Profit

What do you bring:
- Proven success as a General Manager in QSR, hospitality, or retail
- Strong leadership, coaching, and project management skills
- Passion for food, people development, and operational excellence
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel
- Experience with training systems (e.g., FLOW) and documentation
As an individual you are:
- Have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Exceptional customer support and service.
- Highly organised & self-driven. Agile, quality & detail conscious, great analytical skills and innovative.
- Comprehensive understanding of project management, training, compliance and safety.
- Previous multi-site experience in other industry, to demonstrate key organisational skills
- Proven successful experience in a high-volume food and drink operations
- Previous experience of Training Needs Analysis
- Level 3 Food Safety and Health and Safety
- Previous experience working with Head Office teams to drive results in the stores
